Notes

Arguably the greatest pony car of all time, the Ford Mustang debuted its first model in 1964 just weeks after the Plymouth Barracuda. The now famous name and body styling of the 1st generation Mustangs were popular from the very start, selling over 400,000 units in its first year, and reaching 1 million within its second year! The massive success of the Mustang led to competition within the American manufacturing companies each trying to rise to the challenge with their own pony cars, including the Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird. The Mustang is currently the longest-produced Ford vehicle and with its iconic sporty coupe styling, long hood and short deck design, there's no surprise as to why it continues to be popular today as it's soon to enter the 7th generation of production. We are excited to offer this 1968 Ford Mustang Coupe refinished in its original color of Lime Gold with Black vinyl interior. Under the hood this Mustang has its original 289ci V8 engine with a 2-barrel carburetor that produces a factory rated 195 horsepower. Delivering this power to the rear wheels is a C4 Select-shift Cruise-o-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission and Ford 8" rear end with an economy ratio of 2.79:1. This Ford also features air conditioning, power steering, deluxe steering wheel, Philco AM radio, a louvered hood, black accent stripes, courtesy light group, tinted glass, manual windows & door locks, floor shifter, console, spare tire with jack equipment, and 14" chrome hubcaps covering steel wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Turanza whitewall tires measuring 195/75R14. This Mustang was purchased new from Muldon Motor Company in Pensacola, FL and remained garage kept and meticulously cared for by same individual owner ever since! In 1985 -1986 the car was restored by Classic Restoration here in St. Louis MO. During its restoration the engine and air conditioning system were rebuilt, along with new interior carpet, headliner, and seat upholstery being replaced, and the exterior was sanded down to bare metal, primed, and professionally repainted. Since its arrival at our museum, we provided this Ford with a replacement brake master cylinder, new brake pedal pad, front brake shoes, rear brake hose, front wheel cylinders, rear axle seals, front sway bar end links, front control arms, and fresh exhaust hangers. It was prepped for sale with an engine oil & filter change, full wheel alignment, and a conversion to accept R134a refrigerant on the air conditioning system. We also installed a new vinyl trunk mat. Included with this 1968 Ford Mustang is its original window sticker, two Ownercard plates, owner's manual with original owner's name typed inside, Mustang showroom brochure, purchase paperwork, restoration & repair receipts and 2 sets of keys. It is meticulously well documented including consistent oil changes post restoration! A true classic collectable that will never go out of style and perfect to enjoy on the weekend cruise! Thank you for your interest and don't hesitate to call with any questions or to schedule a time to come see our showroom in person.
