Notes

Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is proud to present his 3rd generation Camaro convertible that has been tastefully modified and is ready to hit the road in style! Under the hood sits a rebuilt drive train that has been upgraded to a 350 cubic inch GM Performance crate engine rated at 350HP and 380 ft./lbs. of torque and a TCI Street Fighter 700R4 transmission. This transmission is running a very streetable P&I 3000 stall converter and is held in place with poly mounts. Putting the power to the ground is a built up rear end that has had an Eaton posi-trac installed with 3.42:1 gears. The rear axle is held in place with a set of billet control arms and a Pro panhard bar. This drive train runs and drives well and is a huge step above stock! The body is clean and has a custom two-tone paint job that shows well and separates it from the rest of the crowd. The suspension has been lowered a subtle 1, which gives it a sleeker look and fits nicely with the set of 5-spoke wheels. Subframe connectors stiffen up the convertible body and make it handle much better. As you get behind the wheel and cruise, the ride is firm but not too stiff and hugs the corners well. This car turns most heads that it passes with the clean custom look and the sounds that is released through the ceramic Edelbrock headers, the super flow catalytic converters, and out of the Dynomax Turbo mufflers. So if you are looking for a great affordable option to get into a classic, this 3rd gen Camaro is a great option!

Bought a vehicle based on Gateways description and pictures 2 weeks ago. I live 1100 miles away, so I was trusting their word. What a big mistake!Vehicle was listed as a "fresh restoration in May 2016". The salesman(Brad at the Tampa branch)assured me this car was in great "show" condition. On arrival, the vehicle barely started, had no turn signal lights, instrument cluster lights, console lights, reverse lights,or functioning horn. Fuse box is completely rusted out. Their description said it had a Holley 850 CFM carburetor, but it a 670 CFM, and it's shot. Transmission, power steering , and radiator all leaking. They attempted to plug up the leaks with gasket sealant. Some linkage under the vehicle was held together with a wire and bent nail. Both exhaust brackets broken. AC and heat had been ripped out of the vehicle. Emergency braking system completely removed. Rear leaf spring broken. Windshield washer system also completely removed. And the engine has a knocking noise. My mechanic gave me an estimate of nearly $7000 dollares to bring this vehicle just up to specs. I forwarded the estimate to Gateway per their request. 2 days later, they called me back and said their is nothing they could do for me. That I signed a sales contract, so I'm just xxxx out of luck. They say it's not their fault the previous owner told Gateway inaccurate information regarding this car. By the way, the previous owner was the car "restorer". And i use this word extremely loosely. I purchased this vehicle for almost $30,000. I didn't purchase a project car. I'm so disgusted with this company and customer relations. And based on other complaints on this website about them, this seems to be a common practice for them. I really hope people who read this shop somewhere else, and pass the word on to friends and family. Gateway Classic Cars is a SHADY, CROOKED , company!!!
