Notes

Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1987 Porsche 944 Turbo, an exceptionally clean and well-maintained example with just 56,000 miles. Finished in the classic shade of Guards Red over grey-beige Porsche script cloth interior, the car presents to a show-quality standard inside and out as evidenced by the many awards it has won in recent years. Attractive D90 wheels are wearing new Michelins (a set of phone dials, with good tires, is included). Interior is completely original aside from a modern bluetooth stereo (the original Blaupunkt Reno is included). Excellent original seat upholstery, door panels, carpets, steering wheel and crack-free dash. All gauges, lights and indicators are working and there are no warning lights illuminated. Under the hood is a turbocharged 2.5 liter four-cylinder engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Drivetrain and suspension are stock aside from a chipped KLR/DME, although the tune is fairly mild - it certainly feels faster than a bone stock 944 Turbo, but without sacrificing idle smoothness or driveability. In 2020 and fewer than 5,000 miles ago this car underwent a major service that included all belts (including timing belt), water pump, both crank sensors, distributor cap and rotor plus spark plugs. air filter, fuel filter, oil service, new front brake pads, and a new A/C compressor along with an R-134a conversion. Service records to dating to new are included with the sale, along with all factory books, tools, period sales literature and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity confirming this example retains its original numbers-matching engine. A well-sorted 944 Turbo is one of the best performing and most balanced sports cars of the 1980s. Rewarding to drive, great to look at and easy to own.
