First released in 1984, the Carrera 3.2 replaced the successful SC and fully re-established the 911 as Porsches primary model. The primary upgrade was the engine, with displacement going from the SCs 3.0L to 3.2L. Along with the introduction of Boschs L-Jetronic fuel/ignition controller and many other technical changes, power increased to 231hp (207hp for the US) from 204hp (180hp in the US). Just as with the SC, Porsche produced the Carrera 3.2 in three body styles: coupe, cabriolet, and targa. The model proved a resounding success, with buyers and critics lauding the car for its brisk performance and exceptional road feel. Minor updates to the interior improved comfort, though dealers happily escorted those more interested in long-distance comfort to the more expensive 928. Today, enthusiasts recognize the Carrera 3.2 as an exceptional variation of the traditional 911 theme. The body style is sleek, screaming aerodynamically sound to everyone who sees it. Of course, it retains the classic 911 driving dynamics, with exceptional steering feel, remarkable brakes, and brisk acceleration. There is no feeling comparable to handling the air-cooled 911 at speed you simply must experience it yourself! The spectacular 1987 Porsche Carrera 3.2 Cabriolet featured here is finished in distinctive Black over a Black leather interior with a matching Black power-folding convertible top. This original California car remained with its first owner until 2021, whereupon it joined a world-class collection here in St. Louis. The second owner had a complete service performed at marque expert Reid Vann and has driven less than 500 miles since their acquisition. We are proud to offer what we believe to be one of the very best Carrera 3.2 Cabriolets on the market today to the most demanding collector, investor, or enthusiast who desires to own one of the very best![!@@Additional Info@@!]Front Air Conditioning, Steering Wheel Trim - Leather, Power Brakes, Gauge - Tachometer, Cassette, Radio - Am/Fm, Trip Odometer, Front Fog Lights, Wheel Diameter - 15 Inch, Wheels - Aluminum Alloy, Tinted Glass, Front Wipers - Intermittent, Power Windows, Side Mirror Adjustments - Power, Front Seat Type - Bucket, Upholstery - Leather
