1982 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet 'Outlaw' w/ 425HP IT'S SHOWTIME!Porsche Club of America - Great Marques Concours 2019 'Best Turbo Air-Cooled' Award winner.'The term 'Outlaw' was originally used by Porsche purists to whom the idea of making alterations to a Porsche is blasphemy. However, today, an entire subculture has emerged around Outlaw's and the Porsche community is stronger and richer because of the diversity around it. Some of the well-known customizers include Magnus Walker, Singer Vehicle Design, Rod Emory and Emory Motorsports, etc. Outlaw is basically the Porsche way of saying 'Hot Rod'. From moderately customized vehicles that look almost stock leaving you to question what has changed, all the way to over the top modifications that make the Porsche stick out and make you say 'wow'. Purist or not, custom Porsche's like this 1982 Porsche 911Turbo Cabriolet w/ 425HP — 'Outlaw' sure do make your head turn and leave you speechless.'This stunning 1982 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet 'Outlaw' w/ 425HP is the ultimate street machine. It was the product of a six- figure plus restoration that was completed in 2019 with 3,256 miles since completion. The large majority of the work was done by well-known Porsche mechanic Bill Rudtner at South Shore Performance in Freeport, NY. Some additional work was done by well-known Porsche Specialist Peter Potzinger of Carrera Car Shop/Potzinger Rewerks in Huntington, NY. The body is absolutely gorgeous with its timeless design. The gorgeous color combination of 1968 Porsche Slate Grey and Black fits this car like a glove. It's loaded with options including power windows and ice cold air conditioning. The car is powered by a 930 3.3L Turbo engine w/425HP and 930 4-speed manual transmission.This car was built to pound the pavement hard while showing off the best parts of Porsche's design and race heritage. Rock and Roll pneumonia!This car was originally born a 1982 Porsche 911 Targa in Guards Red with Black interior. It spent most of its life with the original owner in Beverly Hills, CA. In 1989, the original owner commissioned a Turbo Slantnose and Cabriolet conversion which was common in that time. The meticulous conversion consisted of using all steel Porsche fenders (front and rear), turbo tail and boxed rocker panels. A RUF front valance was used instead of the OEM Slantnose front valance. A large RSR style oil cooler was installed and mounted behind the front valance with steel oil lines. The car was eventually sold after decades to an individual in Las Vegas, NV and then was brought back to California where it was sold for the third time to a gentleman in New York. At the time of the sale and start of restoration the car had 118,688 miles. All of this information is documented on the clean Car Fax report that is included. The gentleman in New York purchased the car with intentions of doing a complete restoration. Prior to the purchase the car was stringently vetted and it's truly one of the good ones with zero rust, straight lines and perfect panel fitment. The vision was to build the ultimate restored retro-mod 930 Slantnose with much better performance, functionality, drivability and reliability than what the factory produced in the 1980's, while paying heritage to Porsche racing and the Porsche brand. Every little minor detail was thought out during the restoration and many purists and Porsche builders across the country were consulted with throughout the build such as Patrick Motorsports, Turbo Kraft, Rarly L8, Potzinger Rewerks and South Shore Performance. This Porsche was completely taken apart, gone through and put back together. The body was fully painted and all the glass was removed. During the restoration the only parts that were re-used were the ones in very good condition. Everything else was replaced with new old stock or excellent condition OEM parts with exception of the custom parts. There are over $100,000.00 worth of receipts spent on this restoration which was completed in early 2019 and has 3,256 miles since completion. The newly rebuilt odometer shows the current mileage since the rebuild. In its short life on the road post restoration, it has been used multiple times in professional automotive photography shoots and projects. At its first official car show on September 15t , 2019 at The Great Marques Concours at Old Westbury Gardens in Old Westbury, NY the car won 'Best Air Cooled Porsche' out of a large and impressive crowd. The concours was hosted and sponsored by the Porsche Club of America. The award and photo are included with the sale.The exterior of this car is car is absolutely beautiful in every sense of the word. The Turbo Slantnose widebody design is like rolling artwork. The body is very straight with excellent gap lines throughout. It was finished in Steve McQueen's preferred color of choice, 1968 Porsche Slate Grey, color code 6801. This rare striking color is like a chameleon. It goes from a dark charcoal to a light or medium grey to a grey-greenish hue depending on what type of light it's in. The paint is in very nice condition with only very minor chips from driving. The paint was recently detailed to a brilliant shine. The grey color is complemented with black accents throughout. Some of these accents include the window trim, mirrors trim, rubber on bumper, side quarter vents, lower moldings, door handles, spoiler trim and Turbo emblem.The car sports a classic black German canvas top that fits excellent. It's extremely easy to operate and goes down manually in literally seconds. The convertible boot cover also fits excellent. The front windshield was replaced new and the side glass was restored. The glass is in overall nice condition with only minor signs of wear. The side glass was tinted 35% which looks great. All of the rubber and seals were replaced. The early 80's style center rear reflector with dark 'Porsche' lettering was retained which is rare to see on a Slantnose as all have the later style reflector without the black Porsche lettering. The pop up headlights work smoothly. The headlight bulbs and fog light bulbs were replaced with white xenon bulbs for improved visibility. The parking lights and fog lights were configured to work independently of the headlights and all the light covers and lights were replaced. The car has a killer stance on 17' Lindsay Racing P2 Fuchs wheels in the RSR (silver) finish. These are real 16' Fuchs centers cut out and welded into a 17'BBS deep dish barrels, accompanied with black Porsche OEM center caps. The wheels are wrapped with BF Goodrich G-Force Comp 2 A/S tires that are 235/45/17 on the front and 275/40/17 on the rear which only have 1200 miles on them. Does an 80's Porsche get any better looking? The black interior of this car is in beautiful condition throughout. Sitting behind the wheel of an 80's 911, especially a Slantnose is awesome. It feels like there is no front end and you can see the entire road. Everything in this interior was restored or replaced. All of the electric components like the window switches, side view mirror systems, electric door locks and windshield wiper assembly was replaced. Most of the original interior pieces such as the bucket seats were sourced from a low mileage 911 donor car. The bucket seats are in excellent condition with absolutely no cracks and are very comfortable. All the seat belts were replaced and custom 3 point shoulder mounted belts were installed in the rear seats. The rear seats fold down which allows for more space in the rear cabin. The dash, dash hardware, door panels, door hardware, rear seats, console, shifter and carpeting are in beautiful condition. The car sports a vintage Momo steering wheel with a Porsche horn cap. The horn is in working order. All of the gauges were rebuilt with aluminum billet gauge rings. The speedometer is a rare 180 MPH version and was rebuilt by Hollywood Speedometer. A traditional tachometer without a boost gauge was used and a 2 Bar Porsche Boost gauge was used in the traditional clock spot similar to the 935 and RUF cars. A digital air/fuel 02 gauge was installed in the center console. An new old stock heat and fresh air unit was installed along with the modernized Griffiths Air Conditioning system that is custom made for vintage Porsches. This system is expensive but worth its weight in gold. It always blows cold even on the hottest of days and on full boost. It's also equipped with power windows, removable cup holders and a custom sound system. The car has an incredible sound system consisting of a Pioneer radio head unit and amplifier with Bluetooth/CD/USB/Pandora/XM/Spotify and is paired with JL Audio and Alpine speakers. There is a slim 8' Kicker subwoofer installed under the driver's seat which has an adjustable gain knob in the center console. The car comes equipped with a Viper alarm system with remote start (w/disable switch), alarm remote control w/ led screen and 2 mile alert radius. The carpeting is covered with modern Lloyd Porsche floor mats with 'Porsche' embossed in red. The front compartment area has been cleaned and painted. Its home to the original spare tire with tools and jack. It has new carpeting and looks really nice. Get in, sit down and hold on!The engine compartment is nicely detailed with many custom features throughout. Most 80's Porsches don't have detailed engine compartments. This one is definitely in a class of its own. The 930 3.3L Turbo engine was entirely rebuilt to new condition. The engine produced 425 horsepower on the dyno and the power is incredible in this 2,800lb rocket. Tasteful engine modifications include a Motronic camshaft with 964 cam grind, MSD coil, upgraded 1 bar spring with rebuilt Porsche wastegate, competition valve job, rebuilt K27 hybrid turbo, adjustable warm up regulator, new vacuum activated 993 pop off valve, and a Fabspeed Intercooler and Intake System which incredibly helps produce boost at 2,500 RPM. The Bosch CDI ignition was fully restored. A brand new larger modern RSR style oil cooler was installed.. The engine breathes through Billy Boat high performance headers and exhaust system with stainless steel heat exchangers. This exhaust system has a beautiful gurgle and sounds so sweet! The engine is coupled to the corresponding 930 4-speed manual transmission that was fully rebuilt to new condition with a Porsche OEM limited slip differential. Taller 1st, 2nd, and 4th gears were added to keep the car in boost between the gear shifts which significantly improves the performance. The transmission was converted to a highly desirable short bell housing by Patrick Motorsport. A new 930 Sachs sport clutch set was added with HD Sport Stage 1 pressure plate, forged aluminum cover/iron friction plate, HD triple drive straps and rivets. The transmission shifts very smoothly and the engine runs excellent. It's time to rock and roll.The undercarriage is also nicely detailed with many custom features throughout. Most 80's Porsches don't have detailed undercarriages. This one is definitely in a class of its own.Everything underneath the car has been restored or replaced. Both the rear wheel hub assemblies were replaced. The entire braking system was gone through including rebuilding the master cylinder, new lines, 911S calipers rebuilt and were refinished in traditional aluminum/silver finish. Newer modern brake pads with cross drilled rotors were also installed. The entire suspension system was purchased from Elephant Racing (930 Sport Restoration Package) and installed. The parts include Bilstein HD shocks and struts, turbo tie rods, 21mm and 28mm torsion bar set, quick change adjustable front strut brace/sway bar. All new bushings, rack spacer bump steer kit, camber plates and ball joints. This car is very comfortable and handles like it's on rails baby!This car drives like a dream and is so exciting to drive every time you start the engine. It has absolutely no issues and everything works as it should. The only items that don't work are the electronic seat control, the automatic heat control and the cruise control, all options from the donor car. This car is in excellent condition and since the restoration has been cared for like a child. It's always been garaged and covered. At the Motor Car Group, we're enthusiasts first.
