Notes

Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is excited to offer this stunning 1974 Pontiac Trans Am for sale. Its striking Admiralty Blue exterior is sure to turn heads, while the black vinyl interior provides a sleek and comfortable ride. Under the hood, youll find a powerful 455 CID V8 engine, which is topped by a 4BBL carb. The owner has provided some documentation from CH Auto, which seems to indicate that the engine was rebuilt to achieve SD-455 output specs, however, no one is trying to pass this off as an SD-455. During the rebuild, the specs listed indicate that the block was bored .030, balanced, and fitted with a Ram Air III-spec cam. ARP fasteners keep everything together. A factory-looking dual exhaust provides that muscle car sound, and although were unable to get any of our cameras in close enough to take a photo of the block stamping area for the serial number, the owner has provided a photo from CH Auto which shows the digits 24N116359, which you can compare to the last 8 digits of the VIN. Backing the beefy 455 is a GM TH400 3-speed automatic transmission, which shifts smartly through the gears. CH Auto also provided a copy of the Pontiac Motor Division dealer invoice for the car, showing the factory ordered options, and with the exception of the GR70X15 bias ply tires shown on the invoice, the current state of the car lines up nicely with what it left the factory with. This classic vehicle comes equipped with a variety of features designed for your comfort and convenience. It is equipped with air conditioning, however it is not blowing cold, and we dont have evidence that it has been converted to R134a. An AM/FM/Cassette head unit is installed, but is not getting power. The attractive aluminum Honeycomb-style wheels not only add to the cars aesthetic appeal, but also contribute to its overall performance. Safety has not been overlooked in this Pontiac Trans Am. It comes with power brakes and power steering for enhanced control and handling. The radial tires offer improved traction and durability, while the seatbelts provide an added layer of safety. The tilt steering wheel allows for adjustable comfort and control. If youre looking for the looks and performance of an SD-455 without the price, this 1974 Pontiac Trans Am is a classic beauty that combines style, performance, and comfort. Its a testament to a time when cars were not just a mode of transportation, but a statement of personality and style. Dont miss the chance to own this piece of automotive history. Call or email our Houston Showroom today to add this one to your collection!

Bought a vehicle based on Gateways description and pictures 2 weeks ago. I live 1100 miles away, so I was trusting their word. What a big mistake!Vehicle was listed as a "fresh restoration in May 2016". The salesman(Brad at the Tampa branch)assured me this car was in great "show" condition. On arrival, the vehicle barely started, had no turn signal lights, instrument cluster lights, console lights, reverse lights,or functioning horn. Fuse box is completely rusted out. Their description said it had a Holley 850 CFM carburetor, but it a 670 CFM, and it's shot. Transmission, power steering , and radiator all leaking. They attempted to plug up the leaks with gasket sealant. Some linkage under the vehicle was held together with a wire and bent nail. Both exhaust brackets broken. AC and heat had been ripped out of the vehicle. Emergency braking system completely removed. Rear leaf spring broken. Windshield washer system also completely removed. And the engine has a knocking noise. My mechanic gave me an estimate of nearly $7000 dollares to bring this vehicle just up to specs. I forwarded the estimate to Gateway per their request. 2 days later, they called me back and said their is nothing they could do for me. That I signed a sales contract, so I'm just xxxx out of luck. They say it's not their fault the previous owner told Gateway inaccurate information regarding this car. By the way, the previous owner was the car "restorer". And i use this word extremely loosely. I purchased this vehicle for almost $30,000. I didn't purchase a project car. I'm so disgusted with this company and customer relations. And based on other complaints on this website about them, this seems to be a common practice for them. I really hope people who read this shop somewhere else, and pass the word on to friends and family. Gateway Classic Cars is a SHADY, CROOKED , company!!!
