Beginning life as a rust-free, California Fastback Mustang, every consideration was made to produce a faithful recreation of the original ''Bullitt'' film car, made famous by none other than Mr. Steve McQueen. It has been restored as follows, Highland Green paint, authentic torque thrust wheels, all trim removed and painted, correct early 1968 side marker lights, relocated antenna to rear quarter panel, stance changed to correct specifications, non GT and non-cut rear valance, steel rear exit exhaust pipes, 1965 Ford Mustang driver side mirror, 1967 Mustang Shelby mesh front grille, period-correct 215/65/15 front and 235/60/15 rear BFGoodrich Radial T/A Tires. This has achieved a correct and authentic Bullitt appearance. Interior upgrades consisting of the following: bucket seats, real Shelby wood steering wheel wrapped in black leather, tilt steering column, modified driver seat brackets to accommodate larger driver, Shelby shifter, fold down back seat, excellent dash, headliner, gauges and audio system. Mechanically, no stone has been left unturned in the pursuit of creating a exceptional recreation of the original, therefore the following upgrades have been performed: power steering, power brakes, front disc brakes, Ford 8'' Posi-Traction rear differential with 4.11 gears, aluminum radiator with electric cooling fans, leather wrapped GT500 steering wheel, all new gauges with white faces, and a vintage-look modern Bluetooth stereo. With only 400 miles accrued on its fully rebuilt, period correct Ford 390ci V8 Engine, its specifications are as follows: .30 over bored (Piston #: H395P30) .30 underground crankshaft Comp Xtream Energy Retro Fit Hydraulic Roller Camshaft .529 Lift on both intake and exhaust 270 Intake duration, 276 exhaust Duration Comp shaft mounted roller rockers Comp duel roller timing set Summit racing billet distributor Edelbrock intake manifold The automobile on offer is a turnkey, no-nonsense Bullitt recreation that would be extremely difficult to replicate or replace today for our asking price. It offers the driver an opportunity to briskly and swiftly move through the streets, changing gears and experiencing old-school American Ford muscle, just as Mr. McQueen (aka Lt. Bullitt) did in the now-infamous motion picture. Available at a fraction of its total cost, this Bullitt Mustang is exceptional in every way, having spent the last serval years in the collection of a close friend and client of Autosport Designs.
