Notes

Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is excited to offer this beautiful 1958 Chevrolet Corvette for sale. This car has been driven in the last two Cruisin the Coast events (October 2022 and 2023), so its not a trailer queen. Under the hood is a peppy 283 CID V8, which with its dual quad setup, has plenty of get up and go, and its 4-speed manual transmission helps with taking advantage of everything the 283 has to offer. The paint scheme is a very attractive Regal Turquoise with Snowcrest White coves, which is one that isnt often seen (only about 510 Corvettes had that color scheme in 1958). The chrome on this car gleams in the sunlight, really helping the paint pop, too. The interior has been given a carpet upgrade from its original loop fabric to a more modern, and very classy, black woven material. The very dark blue synthetic leather seats are in great shape, and match the headliner and dash pad, while the black dash shines like the black lacquer finish one would find on the finest Steinway. On those hot top up weather days, the occupants will be grateful for the addition of cold-blowing A/C; while the rest of the time, theyre more likely to be running around with the hard top off and convertible top stowed, enjoying the wind in their hair. A modern retro style AM/FM head unit has been installed for the occupants musical enjoyment (when theyre not enjoying the music coming from under the hood). This little beast rids on a set of wide whitewall radial tires, and hiding behind the front wheels are disc brakes, so this car rides and handles better than it did new. This is the kind of classic Corvette that youll want to own and drive, so dont let it get away!

Bought a vehicle based on Gateways description and pictures 2 weeks ago. I live 1100 miles away, so I was trusting their word. What a big mistake!Vehicle was listed as a "fresh restoration in May 2016". The salesman(Brad at the Tampa branch)assured me this car was in great "show" condition. On arrival, the vehicle barely started, had no turn signal lights, instrument cluster lights, console lights, reverse lights,or functioning horn. Fuse box is completely rusted out. Their description said it had a Holley 850 CFM carburetor, but it a 670 CFM, and it's shot. Transmission, power steering , and radiator all leaking. They attempted to plug up the leaks with gasket sealant. Some linkage under the vehicle was held together with a wire and bent nail. Both exhaust brackets broken. AC and heat had been ripped out of the vehicle. Emergency braking system completely removed. Rear leaf spring broken. Windshield washer system also completely removed. And the engine has a knocking noise. My mechanic gave me an estimate of nearly $7000 dollares to bring this vehicle just up to specs. I forwarded the estimate to Gateway per their request. 2 days later, they called me back and said their is nothing they could do for me. That I signed a sales contract, so I'm just xxxx out of luck. They say it's not their fault the previous owner told Gateway inaccurate information regarding this car. By the way, the previous owner was the car "restorer". And i use this word extremely loosely. I purchased this vehicle for almost $30,000. I didn't purchase a project car. I'm so disgusted with this company and customer relations. And based on other complaints on this website about them, this seems to be a common practice for them. I really hope people who read this shop somewhere else, and pass the word on to friends and family. Gateway Classic Cars is a SHADY, CROOKED , company!!!
