Notes

Gateway Classic Cars of Nashville is proud to digitally present this 1949 Cadillac Series 62. The word of the day is Patina. The number of cars I have seen that have tried to get the patina look right and missed should study this car. One of the reasons this Patina paint looks so good is it is just that, patina! Not paint sprayed on and rubbed off, this is the real deal and i would not change a thing with the paint.Under the hood, a 331 Cubic inch V8 engine ensures that this classic vehicle is not just a showpiece, but a reliable ride. The automatic transmission provides smooth gear changes. A bench seat up front and in the back give you room for friends and family. The Cadillac Series 62 has what is believed to be the original AM radio brings a touch of nostalgia, giving you the chance to tune into your favorite stations just like in the good old days. The vehicles aesthetic is further enhanced by its classic hub caps and radial tires, all wrapped in wide white walls. These features not only add to the overall charm of the Cadillac Series 62 but also provide a smooth and comfortable ride.In this 1949 Cadillac Series 62 you have a car that was revived not restored and by that i mean, the driveline was checked, plugs wires, etc under the hood replaced, new brake lines and shoes. New muffler. The current owner wanted a driver and did the necessity to be safe on the road, the rest he left as was including the bakelite steering wheel paint and interior. With this car a little soap and water and a new carpet will make a world of difference but that might be all I would change. Sale held pursuant to permit No. 19289 of department of licenses granted the 14th day of August 2015.

Bought a vehicle based on Gateways description and pictures 2 weeks ago. I live 1100 miles away, so I was trusting their word. What a big mistake!Vehicle was listed as a "fresh restoration in May 2016". The salesman(Brad at the Tampa branch)assured me this car was in great "show" condition. On arrival, the vehicle barely started, had no turn signal lights, instrument cluster lights, console lights, reverse lights,or functioning horn. Fuse box is completely rusted out. Their description said it had a Holley 850 CFM carburetor, but it a 670 CFM, and it's shot. Transmission, power steering , and radiator all leaking. They attempted to plug up the leaks with gasket sealant. Some linkage under the vehicle was held together with a wire and bent nail. Both exhaust brackets broken. AC and heat had been ripped out of the vehicle. Emergency braking system completely removed. Rear leaf spring broken. Windshield washer system also completely removed. And the engine has a knocking noise. My mechanic gave me an estimate of nearly $7000 dollares to bring this vehicle just up to specs. I forwarded the estimate to Gateway per their request. 2 days later, they called me back and said their is nothing they could do for me. That I signed a sales contract, so I'm just xxxx out of luck. They say it's not their fault the previous owner told Gateway inaccurate information regarding this car. By the way, the previous owner was the car "restorer". And i use this word extremely loosely. I purchased this vehicle for almost $30,000. I didn't purchase a project car. I'm so disgusted with this company and customer relations. And based on other complaints on this website about them, this seems to be a common practice for them. I really hope people who read this shop somewhere else, and pass the word on to friends and family. Gateway Classic Cars is a SHADY, CROOKED , company!!!
