1939 Ford Street Rod - The Coupster. This stunning and award winning car was built as a Detroit Autorama Ridler award contender. Professionally built by Street Toys by Thieker, there have been extensive and unique modifications made to the original Coast-To-Coast body. Body: Coast-to-Coast roadster body reworked to a coupe. All fenders and top molded to body Body smoothed and all character lines removed Custom head and tail light systems Head molds to one piece and balance on a single hinge Hand made grille Roof molded to body with contoured drip rails Rear window split and roof reshaped to trunk line Engine: Corvette LSI withAugustine Stage 2 package, 425 hp Hand formed engine cover with detailed engine and billet valve covers, 4 speed trans, 4L60E with 2800 stall converter Chassis: Custom built with air bag suspension controlled from cab or computer when in show display mode Front Mustang 2, Rear Ford 9 SS exhaust with one-piece exhaust tip Wheels: Plymouth Prowler rims with low profile run flat tires, F-18, R-20 Paint: House of Colors Mistik Blue and Silver Flake Color separation and ghost flames Interior: Custom molded dash inlaid with abalone shell Dakota Digital gauges, Molded door panels with waves and surfers, Roof console with AC. Floor console molds to seat with vertical shifter, Special Feature: A custom made computer cycles the air suspension and actually opens hood, trunk and doors via actuators. Completed too late for the 2004 Autorama, The Coupster was invited to the prestigious Willistead Classic Concurs d'Elegance in Canada where it took Class Champion Street Rod and later Best of Show Street Rod at the USMA Nats North along with Top 25 at Frankenmuth. This made it ineligible as a Ridler contender but, taken to the 2005 Detroit Autorama anyway, it went on to take 1st Place Radical Rod Coupe. It has also been invited, by Blackie Gejeian to the Fresno Autorama in 2006.
