2011 PORSCHE 911 997 GT3 RS 4.0: --Carrera White with Black Full Leather interior and Black carpeting, 5,900 miles, Rare – 1 of 600 produced, Last of the 997s, 4.0 Liter flat 6-cylinder engine with a 6-Speed Manual Transmission. Factory options include: Ceramic Composite Brakes-PCCB, Front axle lifting system, Heated seats – front, PCM 3.0 with extended navigation, Automatically dimming interior, Wheels painted in GT Silver metallic, Sound package plus, Fire extinguisher, Dyanmic cornering lights, Sport chrono package plus, Satellite radio, Universal audio interface, Rear section of center console in Alcantara, Sun visors in Alcantara, Steering column casing in leather, Clear tail lights, Foot rest in Aluminum.   Porsche’s finale for the 997 was quite possibly the best, driver-focused 911 built to date. Only 600 examples were built for the 2011 model year.  The engine was the highlight of this GT3 RS.  As the 4.0 name implies, the 3.8-liter engine of the standard GT3 RS was replaced by this 4.0-liter version of the flat-six lifted from Porsche’s competition GT3 R and RSR race cars.  Up until that point, this was the largest engine ever fitted in the rear of a street-legal 911.  It produces 500 hp and 339 ft lb of torque. Performance is 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 193 mph.  Carbon fiber was used in construction of the hood, front fenders, and seats, resulting in a weighing just over 3,000 pounds.  To tame the power and lightness, Porsche fitted an advanced and aggressive aero package.  A larger rear wing in conjunction with a larger front splitter and dive planes allowed high levels of downforce at speed.  Dynamic engine mounts kept the rear-mounted engine mass in check during hard cornering.   This GT3 RS 4.0 has seen Porsche collector ownership since new and has always been well taken care of.  With only 5,900 miles, the 4.0 has always been driven as a street car and has no excuses.  With a recent full service and new tires, this 4.0 is turn-key and ready for enjoyment and collectability.  It is exceptional throughout and is complete with all books, tools, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and original window sticker.  It has also been fitted with Porsche’s carbon fiber bucket seats; the original adaptive sport seats also accompany the car.  Being an icon on its own, a numbered chassis Porsche is always sought after and this 4.0 is destined to be an instant modern classic.

I purchased my 2011 Carrera 911 S July 3, 2010. I have put about 7500 miles on it. With so many Porsche "Options" to choose, from, one of the options should be the "QUIET" option (Road Noise). At most times over 60 mph, you cant hear the radio. At cruising speeds on the interstate, there's no point trying to listen or talk for that matter. The second issue I have is with the comfort. The seats are just plain hard and not comfortable for a long drive. They are infinitely adjustable but the basic comfort is not there. With 30 plus years of making the same car, one would think concepts like noise and comfort might be an OPTION for this vehicle.
